Interesting things - Facebook Twango

While we are busy charting the next set of releases, many interesting things are happening across the world.

Facebook which has captured imagination of many across the world has now captured the attention of Indians as well. Many of my friends online or offline are now sending me facebook requests to my account which I had created many years ago and forgotten. I had been a regular orkut/linkedin user some time ago and later stopped using them but now inundated with many facebook requests ( 4-5 a week) I decided to toy around with facebook. Noticed that facebook had added video application almost a month ago and to my pleasant surprise they had a record feature which means that wwigo should work with facebook and it did :) In just a month the number of users of the video application is 4 million which is really staggering.

In another development Nokia purchased Twango (via labnol , more at gigaom) , I had looked at twango before but have not used it regularly but what I found interesting was the very simple webcam record widget ( if you have used the new youtube live upload widget you would agree with me). Tested it now and wwigo works well, Infact wwigo binds Nokia and twango a little more closely :)

WWIGO in Media

Thanks for all the users who have downloaded our software and found it quite useful. We are glad to reach close to 15000 downloads after one month of beta release. Thanks to Antony Pranata for selecting wwigo as a featured freeware of the month.

For those who want to check out the video demo of wwigo can have a look at Rajan’s interview with CNBC’s Tech2 show.

WWIGO users can refer to wwigo forum for any common discussion/issues. Any specific queries regarding wwigo can be posted here.

We are yet to add support for IVT Bluetooth. Stay tuned for more updates coming up.

We met Kalpana a few hours ago and gave a quick demo of ‘wwigo’ to her. In our chat Kalpana quizzes us on what ‘wwigo’ is and what it can do, Ramu passionately explains on how ‘wwigo’ makes every application (Youtube, Skype, Yahoo, Movie Maker etc) in the PC think that a cameraphone is a webcam while I do an live upload of the the chat using youtube’s ‘Quick Upload‘ feature.Youtube Quick Upload button

Invites Sent

The response to alpha signup had been quite good, and we had more than 60 signups by the end of the day yesterday. We have sent out invites to all those who signed up before 11.59 pm last night. If you had signed up yesterday before 11.59 pm and have not yet received your invitation then do let us know by sending us an email at contact@motvik.com. And if you signed up a little while after that then you would have to wait a little longer till we announce the release the next batch of alpha invites.

Kamla Bhatt had covered our alpha release and she also uploaded a few video shots showing ‘WWIGO’ in action.
Now with the alpha out in the hands of users we are eagerly waiting for the response :)
